I saw Julia Sarr-Jamois, the distinctive fashion editor of Wonderland magazine, this week leaning on a bus stop outside Somerset House. She is super fab and looked very warm fighting off the sudden arrival of cold with coloured fur.

Coloured fur + afro = winter fab.

Is it me or is it getting colder outside? I’m loving Hanneli’s take on winter dressing as she embraces Spring’s pastels trend teaming it up with winter whites, a pop of colour and some tough girl boots. Dreamy.

I started rolling out my winter wardrobe this week and then the weekend threw a little sunshine surprise. This Celine jumper featured in Vogue China‘s  September issue is making me want the cold more than ever. Goodbye Summer.

Craving the cold

Posted in Editorial by Nneoma Ulu on August 15, 2011

Enough of this muggy, sad-excuse-for-a-summer weather with some sporadic torrential rain thrown in for good measure  already. Bring on the cold. I’m longing for sumptuous knits of the Acne and Whistles variety and ankle boots by Topshop and Kors Michael Kors.

September is like January in fashion

Posted in High Street Fashion by Nneoma Ulu on September 1, 2009

Last week, I was treated to a preview of The September Issue, an insightful documentary on the creativity and chaos that goes into a September issue of US Vogue, courtesy of LOVEFiLM and a lovely work colleague. Though it has been released Stateside, it is not due to grace British screens until September 11th so I won’t spoil it for you! However, amongst the many one-liners to come out of the film, one definitely stood out – “September is like January in fashion”. There is no denying the importance of September in the fashion world and every discerning fashionista knows that it’s all about Autumn/Winter collections!

This September is no different. As we embark on the start of another year in fashion, the high street is bringing some designer loveliness in the form of collaborations to enhance our wardrobes.

Christopher Kane for TopShop

TopShop brings another installment to satiate our appetite for the finer things in life at affordable prices. I’m guessing the crocodile tee will sell out, so get in there quick to avoid ferocious bidding wars on eBay!

Roksanda Ilincic for Whistles

There are seven evening dresses in this limited collection with only 400 pieces available. These dresses will sell out… you have been warned!

Pierre Hardy for Gap

These boots are a must have. They have graced the pages of most magazines from Grazia to Elle.
