Time for a Revival?

Posted in News by Nneoma Ulu on November 9, 2010

One is an exception. Two is a coincidence. Three is a trend. The latest trend – reissued collections. There is nothing like remembering the good times to celebrate a landmark birthday and that’s exactly what Marc Jacobs is doing to celebrate 10 years of his eponymous diffusion line, Marc By Marc Jacobs. According to WWD, a collection of Marc’s greatest hits will be on sale next spring featuring highlights and favourites from the label’s women’s and men’s line since its start in 2001.Definitely one to start saving up for…

As every good fashionista knows, the key to a good wardrobe is the ability to mix high end pieces with high street pieces. So imagine my glee when I found out that American megastore, Target is celebrating five years of  GO International® by reissuing 34 dresses from the following 17 previously featured designers:

Luella Bartley, Tara Jarmon, Paul & Joe, Behnaz Sarafpour, Proenza Schouler, Libertine, Alice Temperley, Erin Fetherston, Jovovich-Hawk, Rogan, Richard Chai, Jonathan Saunders, Thakoon, Tracy Feith, Rodarte, Zac Posen and Tucker.

The collection will be available from March 13 next year. Time to plan a spring break to NYC me thinks.

Now to prove that reissuing is a trend, the third of my trio is Marni. Unlike Marc Jacobs and Target, Consuelo Castiglioni doesn’t need a reason to sell her greatest hits. Marni Vintage, a collection of reissued designs from the classic cult Italian designer, is currently available online and includes everything from blouses and trousers to outerwear and jewellery until the end of the December. Get your hands on Marni Vintage here.
