December is such a giving month. People just seem more generous than usual and I’m putting it down to the Christmas spirit in the air. In true giving style, Sonia Rykiel and H&M offered up their upcoming collection in a visually stunning catwalk show streamed live from the Grand Palais in Paris. The show aired live last night at 10pm (GMT) and you can watch it here.

The theme of the show was Alice in Wonderland meets Disney in which big hair and underwear reigned supreme. The Grand Palais was transformed into a vast wonderland with a replica Eiffel Tower and ferris wheel and saw girls riding a huge black horse led by Lily Cole and more girls gyrating in stripey underwear amongst balloon-leaved trees and even more girls on giant swings all sporting the new Sonia Rykiel for H&M range. The set was huge and 60 models used for the show. Sonia and H&M really did it big! The collection is pretty nice and has almost inspired me to get rid of my entire collection of TopShop and Primark undies to trade up…

The lingerie collection is set to hit H&M stores and for the first time in H&M’s designer-collaboration history, you can also find the collection in stand-alone Sonia Rykiel boutiques from December 5th. This range has only whet my appetite for the full clothing collection set to hit H&M stores next February which was also featured a little in the show.

  2. […] will drop in store on this date. Sonia has done quite a bit to get us excited about the collection (that show in Paris) and the reasons just keep coming. Here are some images from the lookbook – thanks […]
